As Simple As
The tree that lets it’s leaves drop each fall…

Can you sink into the absurdity of it even for just a moment…

A tree efforting – straining to hold onto its leaves…
Enamored with the gorgeous orange and yellows it has become
Not trusting the Nature and the flow

it pulls it’s life force into an attempt to hold onto even one beautiful leaf…

Can you imagine the sense of hopelessness and grief the tree feels when it realizes its efforts were futile?

How is this any different than a person’s efforts to cling to any aspect of human existence…

Any sense of “my well being depends upon” this or this or this occurring in a world separate from me.

it doesn’t make any sense

For today, anyway…

I Am the Tree
and the leaves fall

Without clinging or aversion
or need to understand
or know what’s next
